Two Individuals Charged for Jail Killing of Former Lostprophets Frontman Ian Watkins

Two men have been formally charged with murder after the incarceration fatality of one-time Lostprophets vocalist and convicted child sex offender Ian Watkins.

The two men, Rashid Gedel (25) and Samuel Dodsworth (43) stand indicted for homicide and are set to face Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, according to law enforcement officials.

Watkins, 48 years old, was serving a 29-year sentence at HMP Wakefield, plus an additional six years on license, after admitting a string of sex offences including the effort to sexually assault an infant.

Watkins was apprehended subsequent to a substance-related warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a substantial collection of electronic devices including computers, phones and drives were taken as evidence.
